Both Group Classes and Private Sessions are offered.

Group Classes

Group classes are currently taught at Unleashed by Petco in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, Petco in Union Square and with School for The Dogs, also in Union Square. Basic group classes teach you (the owner) the fundamental skills needed to teach your dog how to operate in a world where we (humans) set the rules.

Unleashed by Petco – Basic Manners 1 Class (Adult Dogs)

This 6-week introductory group class is designed to help you better communicate and train your older puppy or mature dog. Dogs will learn skills such as “Sit”, “Down”, “Leave It,” “Stay” and how to walk on a loose leash.

This class also addresses challenges such as jumping, barking, mouthing and digging.

Unleashed by Petco – Puppy 1 Class (Dogs 6 months and under)

This 6-week introductory group class focuses on socialization and is designed to teach your puppy all the basics such as “Sitting,” “Walking on a Loose Leash” and to “Come When Called.”

This class also covers problem-solving ideas and management for potty training, chewing, jumping, digging and more.

Private Sessions

Private sessions can currently be booked through through School For The Dogs. Done on a one-on-one basis in the home or in any relevant environment, they’re custom tailored to meet your dogs needs and designed to fit your schedule.

New Puppy Training

If you’ve just brought your new puppy home and are feeling a bit overwhelmed, a few private sessions can really help you get off to a good start! Working with your puppy for just a few minutes a day can yield amazing results and will assure you raise a well-mannered, socialized and handleable adult dog. With a general focus on basic manners such as leash-walking, coming when called, learning how to sit, we’ll also address house-training, socialization and preventing typical puppy behaviors like chewing, mouthing, jumping up and barking – all tailored to your needs.

Basic/Adolescent Training

If you have an adolescent or adult dog who’s having basic behavioral issues such as jumping, mouthing, barking and ignoring your requests, don’t worry, there’s still hope! In just a few sessions we can start instilling impulse control and can strengthen the relationship you have with your dog which will lead to a better response to your requests. Just a few things that can be improved include leash manners, excessive barking, jumping, mouthing and learning polite city manners.
